Set Up A Successful 30-Day Candida Cleanse for Teens

While a candida cleanse and gut bacteria reset can be beneficial for everyone, it can be a daunting endeavor.  It is not for the faint of heart. Most folks won’t even attempt this unless there is a strong felt need.

The typical American diet and overuse of prescription antibiotics create a breeding ground for candida albicans. It’s not hard to discover if your teenager might have this issue going on in their system. There are some common candida indicators and even easy home-based tests that can reveal if your teen might benefit from a candida cleanse.

Four Parts To Every Candida Cleanse

Every candida cleanse includes four key parts that can all be done at the same time.

  • Starve: Candida albicans bacteria feed on sugar. So the starving part requires you to remove all sugar and sugar-forming foods from the diet. This is the most difficult step since so many of our American foods fall into this category. Several weeks of planning may be necessary to set up a successful meal plan for your teen.
  • Kill: Killing back some of the candida requires a strong anti-fungal that will not upset the good bacteria that you’re trying to strengthen. We utilize a highly concentrated and easy to digest form of garlic, which can act as a powerful anti-fungal/anti-biotic agent.
  • Replenish: As you are killing off the overgrowth of candida, it is very important to be replenishing the good bacteria (specifically, bifidus and acidophilus) so that these can create a healthy environment. These beneficial bacteria will also help to keep the overgrowth in check and prevent it from getting out of control in the future.
  • Restore: Candida overgrowth can cause inflammation and damage to the lining of the intestinal walls. If this overgrowth has been going on for many years, it will take some time and intentional supplementation to repair.

Why 30-Days?

Healing takes time. And six weeks can sound really long to a teenager. Four to six weeks is pretty standard for a mild case of candida overgrowth. More severe cases could take many months for a successful course correction. Basically, the longer the gut is out of balance, the longer it can take to heal from all the damage.

The good news is that healing CAN happen! It IS possible to turn around your teenager’s gut health through a directed candida cleanse.

The Teenage Buy-In & Incentive

Teenagers are young adults, and forcing them to do anything simply won’t work. It will backfire. If you’re the parent of a teenager, you know this all too well.

While your teen may not realize just yet how important their diet is to a healthy lifestyle, they certainly may want to feel better. This is what you need to help them focus on–the BENEFITS of the candida cleanse. You need to sell them on the “why.”

One set of parents watched their teenager struggle through his first week on the cleanse (having to say “no” to other foods…A LOT). They quickly and wisely realized that their son was not going to make it the full month without some extra incentive. For them, the incentive was easy to decide given their son’s competitive nature. They chose a monetary value: “We’ll pay you this full amount if you stick with it the whole month. Every time you cheat on the diet, we take part of it back.” It worked! Their son started week 2 with a whole new resolve.

So, you may need to decide on an extra incentive/reward with your teenager to help them stay motivated. As I said before, the 30-day diet changes are significant. It’s these significant changes though that can lead to significant results.
